How it works

ROI is our driver, Avalon can bring the following benefits to your corporate network.

Time

From managing an existing network to creating a new one, Avalon will ease those time-consuming tasks as well as your day-to-day operations.

Reliability

We will integrate your network in a way that allows Avalon to automatically create and deploy the configurations needed for your network services thus eliminating human errors.

Flexibility

We have built a strong network model to quickly integrate your use cases and deliver a custom, yet replicable, solution.

Available features

Network discovery and maps

Avalon was built with the idea that up-to-date maps are mandatory for network management

  • Discover your network and automatically generate the maps
  • Visualize network services directly on the map
  • Add custom shapes to the maps like your buildings
  • Export your maps for field teams
  • Provision with a CSV file or a SoT like Netbox

Configure

Avalon supports multiple methods for network services deployment

  • Per device specific network services
  • Per device group network services (with common parameters)
  • Composite services: an aggregation of unitary services, logically chained to provide a high level of abstraction. Composite services are created to speed up our customers most time-consuming tasks

Day-to-day operations

Because simple tasks are also time consuming

  • Back up your configuration
  • Compare your configurations from different times
  • Upgrade your devices (upload, activation, both)
  • Execute these tasks live or as a scheduled event

Industrial Networks / OT

Avalon now supports industrial network equipment like Hirschmann.

  • Network discovery and topology mapping (including MRP ring)
  • Configuration backup
  • Configuration deployment
  • Coming soon: Firmware upgrades

FAQ

Interested? Here are some additional details on how Avalon works and how we can collaborate.

Is Avalon a SaaS or an on-prem application? +

Avalon is an on-prem application. You will provide a virtual machine to install the application. This virtual machine can be hosted on your infrastructure or by a Cloud Service Provider. The minimum virtual machine specifications are: 2 vCPU, 4Go RAM, 40Go disk space.

Do you support industrial/OT network equipment? +

Yes, Avalon currently supports Hirschmann industrial network equipment, with more vendors coming soon. We can help you automate your OT infrastructure while respecting IT/OT segregation requirements.

What are the technical requirements? +

A virtual machine to host the application: 2 vCPU, 4Go RAM, 40Go disk space

This virtual machine needs to have access to our server to download the application images. We control the access to this server by filtering the HTTPS requests based on our customers’ IP addresses. There is no communication initiated by our server to your virtual machine.

A service account to connect to your devices. This account can have only read-only access to start the network discovery process and execute some day-to-day operations.

Access to your existing network tools. For instance if you use Netbox as your SoT, we will require the URL of your Netbox instance along with an API token.

Should I grant Avalon with read-write access to begin my journey? +

No, you can provide a read-only service account on your infrastructure to start the network discovery process and execute some day-to-day operations.

Do you support proprietary technologies? +

Yes, we support most common stacking technologies.

We do not support technologies that require a non-standard data model.

Do you operate worldwide? +

At the moment we can accommodate customers in Europe.
